Clam Chowder

- Drain clams, reserving liquid. Chop clams; set aside. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and celery; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over vegetables; cook and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in reserved clam liquid and chicken broth until smooth. Stir in potatoes; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 10 minutes. Stir in half-and-half, bay leaves, salt, pepper, and chopped clams. Simmer for 10 minutes more.
