Classic Shepherds Pie
A classic British dish made with ground beef, vegetables and mashed potatoes.

INGREDIENTS
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain off any fat. Add the onion, carrots, garlic, and frozen peas. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, flour, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, peel and cut the potatoes into 1-inch cubes. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook for 15 minutes, or until tender. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes with the butter and milk. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the filling into an 8x8-inch baking dish. Top with the mashed potatoes. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
